  Short chains of Gram-positive cocci are morphologically typical of Streptococcus.  
       

 

  Streptococcal septicemia provokes streptococcal toxic shock-like syndrome. The bacteria are commonly sensitive to Penicillin, but the antibiotics administration is clinically ineffective because of the absence of blood stream.
